The M9 is a great weapon that puts 15 rounds in your magazine at the same weight as a seven round 1911 does. It has accuracy, and reliability. It is light. It balances in your hand nicely. But does it have enough wallop to inspire soldier's confidence?
Working against the Beretta M9 is the fact that the weapon is replacing the 1911 in a 9mm caliber. Despite being the most successful cartridge in the world, the 9mm has it's detractors.
