Sārārtha Varṣiṇī Ṭīkā: Commentary on Srimad Bhagavad Gita
This book provides the commentary of ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« ṬhÄkura on Bhagavad Gita. ÅšrÄ«la ViÅ›vanÄtha CakravartÄ« ṬhÄkura needs no introduction among the followers of Lord Caitanya. He is known for his inspiring explanations filled with sweet realizations of Kṛṣṇa. His commentary on the Bhagavad-gÄ«tÄ called SÄrÄrtha-vará¹£iṇī, “showering the real meaning†likewise reveals a sweetness not found in other commentaries on the GÄ«tÄ. His commentary explains the GÄ«tÄ from the perspective of pure bhakti defined by ÅšrÄ«la RÅ«pa GosvÄmÄ« as uttama-bhakti and emphasizes the sweetness and mercy of Kṛṣṇa above all else. This gives it a distinction among the various commentaries on the GÄ«tÄ. At the same time, it is a reasonable and simple explanation of the text, supporting itself with ample proof from the ÅšrÄ«mad-bhÄgavatam. Thus it is accessible to the majority of readers.
