Six Studies in English Folk Song for Tuba or Bass Trombone
These six short works composed in 1926 for the Cellist, Meg Mukle have been arranged for the first time for Tuba or Bass Trombone & Piano by Ralph Sauer, retired Principal Trombonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Although titled "Studies", these movements are very beautiful gems, each one shining with genius and able to stand on their own. They are all in the modal lyrical style of the composer, whose music is impressionist yet British to the core. The final movement, an Allegro Vivace evokes the memory of his English Folk Song Suite for Band. This edition is printed with kind permission from Stainer and Bell.
