Violet offers her help but sets a deal in Bob's lap. She'll help look for her abducted friend and not mention a word of "them" the whole time. But if they don't find Daisy, she wants her chance with Bob.
He accepts and off the pair goes, searching the fish camps dotting the northern Michigan coastline with Lake Superior. Besides the rotten stench, they find a cast of interesting characters. But no sign of Daisy.
Following a tip, they retrace their path southward where Bob makes his final stand. Getting himself shot again, he depends on Violet's help one last time.
But it's during his recuperation that Bob discovers what he was truly searching for...the truth...about everything.
