A musty letter from the sixth-century sends Dr. Stephen Saint Gabriel and his archeologist wife, Nicki, to Israel once again. The hillside tombs of Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth are in their sights because, according to the letter, there is a legend that will turn on it’s head the story of Joseph of Arimathea and his supposed journey to Glastonbury, England. Discovering the facts of Joseph’s actual final place of abode would be fascinating enough, but what if there were also discovered the bones of someone who should have left no bones on earth?
The Gabriels’ quest draws unwelcome attention from groups as diverse as Opus Dei, the Israel Antiquities Authority, radical Jews, and prying journalists. The bones that are found disturb everyone, but the contents of a small stone box found in the tomb will create a tsunami that sends shock waves around the world and leaves Gabriel struggling for his very life.
