At the time, there were no books written about the vertical sleeve. The sleeve was only mentioned in passing in a few general weight loss surgery books, and was often labeled "experimental." She knew she wanted to write a book to help other patients who are in that "reading like crazy" mode to hear from a patient that had the sleeve surgery. This is the book. She hopes it helps others in their quest to escape morbid obesity.
