Ibrahim Pasha (1493 – 1536) was a Greek born to Christian parents who was captured by pirates and sold as a slave. He rose through his brilliance to become he first grand vizier in the Ottoman Empire appointed by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. He attained unprecedented power before being executed by the Sultan.
