Handbook for the Home, School, and Church: for Christians of the Lutheran Confession
A translation of the first edition of Wilhelm Löhe's "Haus- Schul- und Kirchenbuch" (Stuttgart, 1845), "Handbook for the Home, School, and Church" is a resource which contains Löhe's explanation of Martin Luther's Small Catechism, as well as a "Catechism of Bible Passages" for the chief parts of the catechism, questions and answers on the High Festival Days of the Christian Church Year, and a prayerbook for children. The volume offers a clear application of the thought of one of the central figures in the 19th century revival of confessional Lutheran theology. Löhe's theological students played a significant role in the formation of several synods in North America.
