Frequently Misspelled Words (4th grade to 5th grade): 300 Challenging Spelling Words (Spelling for Homeschoolers)
This workbook contains 80 pages to help your homeschooled child with frequently misspelled words. There are twenty sets of weekly challenge words with four pages of practice for each lesson. On Monday, your child will list the toughest and easiest words, shortest and longest words, new or interesting words, and use words in a question or exclamation or quotation. On Tuesday, your child will practice their words, or write sentences using the words, or explain why these fifteen words are frequently misspelled. On Wednesday, your child will hide ten of the toughest words in a word search and write a funny story using five of the words. On Thursday, your child will practice the ten toughest words (twice) and five easiest words (once), write three questions and three exclamations, and compose three silly sentences. By Friday, your child will have a strong grasp of the spelling and natural usage of fifteen challenging words.
The 300 challenging words in this workbook are sure to prepare your child for the upper elementary grades with frequently misspelled words like: forty, restaurant, cousin, tomorrow, twice, nation, caterpillar, Wednesday, familiar, believe, alligator, probably, parallel, obedience, Thursday, exclamation, paragraph, friendship, quotient, noisy, thousand, imagination and many more. Most of these words are repeated on numerous lists of frequently misspelled words (and some come from my 20 years of experience in the elementary classroom).
