Down Range Data: A Guide to Extremely Long Range Shooting with Your "Buffalo Rifle"
Using this book will allow you to correctly adjust the vernier sight of your properly zeroed buffalo gun for target engagements out to extreme ranges. It does not matter whether you are using black powder or smokeless powder as long as the velocity matches those in the trajectory tables in the book.
While replicating the 1538 yard shot made by Billy Dixon it became obvious that using existing ballistic software and info available from various sources for ballistic coefficients didn't give usable data once the ranges passed about 600 yards. I began gathering data on sight settings and distances from my own shooting and converted this information to MOA in order to save time and ammo.
