Anna and Hiram Schwartz, along with their 2-year old son Boaz, are living a largely typical Amish life as a married couple. Though Hiram is not loving and often overly strict with Anna and Boaz, they do not complain and manage to take life as it comes. However, during what is normally one of the busiest times of the year for Amish men, Hiram is sluggish and more bearish than usual.
